WE’RE HUNGRY ZOMBIES – Let’s stock the shelves!

In support of the Arts Council of Sault Ste. Marie & District’s Annual Zombie Walk, CC Communications is hosting the “BEST ZOMBIE FACE CONTEST!”

The 5th Annual Zombie Walk activities will start at the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre at 1:00 p.m. this Saturday, Oct. 26th. Here, people can have their faces made gruesome by talented makeup artists, eat zombie snacks made by Sweet Designs and Nothin’ Gluten, play zombie games like limb tossing and fishing for fingers, and have their photographs taken at a zombie studio by Mark Primavera. Musicians including James Watterworth, Greg Calhoun, Haggith, and Sykotyk Rampage will also be playing haunting music throughout the day.

At 6:00p.m., the walk will begin. After the walk, Closing Ceremonies will be at approximately 7:30 p.m. at the Roberta Bondar Pavilion.

To throw in your ranks with the zombies or become part of the resistance, bring a non-perishable food item and $2 to the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre on the day of the walk. Young zombies 12 and under can bring just a canned good. These donations will go towards the Algoma University Student Food Bank, the Sault College Food Bank, and the Arts Council of Sault Ste. Marie & District. To register, you must either bring a signed registration form and waiver (available below) or fill these out when you register. Remember if you are under 18, you must have a legal parent or guardian sign your waiver.

You can also register at Farmer Bob’s corn maze on the evening of October 25th where zombies will get $2 off on the evenings of October 25th and October 26th. Farmer Bob will be collecting canned goods these nights as well, so come donate and walk through the brain-shaped maze.

On the night of October 26th, Coch’s Corner will be hosting a 19 plus afterparty with live music starting at 9:00 p.m. Those that have registered for the Zombie Walk and have a wristband (which you will receive when you officially register) can get into the afterparty for free, those that have not registered are invited to the afterparty for the price of a non-perishable food item or $2. After 11:00 p.m., donations are still welcome.

Admission is $2.00 along with a canned good for those 13 and over and a canned good for those 12 and under. Canned goods will be donated to Algoma University and Sault College Food Banks.

Participants wishing to enter the “Best Zombie Face Contest” are encouraged to email their photo to [email protected] before November 4th. The top 3 selected best zombie faces will then be voted on through likes on CC Communications Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/CCCommunicationsandphotography?ref=hl. The top three faces will all be winners and the individual with the highest amount of likes will receive first prize.

First prize includes an overnight stay for two courtesy of Quality Inn on Bay Street, a $100 cheque from Coch’s Corner, and a $50 gift card from Gliss Restaurant. Second Prize is a basket provided by Second Line Shopper’s Drugmart, a $25 gift card from Solo Trattoria, and a $25 gift card from Identity Salon and Spa.
