Zooming around on the ice is a great way to spend some time with the family as well as get some winter exercise at the same time. Fortunately for residents and visitors of Sault Ste. Marie there are multiple outdoor skating rinks in which you can strengthen your leg muscles, hone your skating and hockey skills, and get some much needed time outside.
Stave off the cold by dressing in warm layers taking advantage of the rink shacks to get away from the wind. If you’re a less than confident skater, or if you’re partaking in a pick up game of hockey, a helmet is highly recommended.
So fill up your thermos with hot chocolate, grab your camera, and take the family out tonight for a skate. It’s just one of the great things to do in the Sault!
