The Snow Spike was in full swing as I took a taxi from the back of the Water Tower Inn’s parking lot to the volleyball action out front. It seemed to me that everyone had a smile on their faces, and for good reason too; this event looked like a blast! With the sun shining, you could almost squint your eyes and imagine the snowy courts were filled with sand. White, cold, sand. I grabbed a few pictures from around the many games which were simultaneously underway, and thought briefly about our “Pretend It’s Summer” photo contest. With every picture that I did capture, each could be considered its own entry had the Snow Spike happened a week earlier. Maybe next year we’ll coordinate the two to coincide.
