Peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital with her family by her side on Friday, March 28, 2014.
Doris was born in Saint John, New Brunswick in 1931. She has been a resident of Sault Ste. Marie since 1967. She is predeceased by her husband Kenneth, of over 53 years, and by her parents Edith and Walter Robinson. Loving mother of Carl of Sault Ste. Marie, Elizabeth (Beth) Clarke of Toronto and Gwen Clarke (Raymond Jacobson) of Calgary. Proud grandmother of Sarah Cameron of Calgary, Ian Cameron, Eric Jacobson, and Bronwen Jacobson of Courtenay, and three grand dogs.
Doris was a Teacher/Librarian with the Sault Ste. Marie Public School Board for over 20 years. She was actively involved in The Sault Symphony Orchestra, Emmanuel United Church and The Red Hat Society.
Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home and Cremation Centre on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 from 6 – 8 pm. Memorial Service will be held at Emmanuel United Church on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 11 am. Rev. Nancy Ferguson officiating.
