On April 7, 2014 Helen Loretta Bailey (Whalen) passed away. Free from a painful battle with cancer our gentle angel is finally at peace. Though our sorrow is great our memories of a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and true friend will live in our hearts forever.
Helen is survived by her husband of 74 years, Leonard Peter Bailey, daughter Sylvia Soucie (Doug) of Elliot Lake, son Leonard Bailey (Marsha Farrell) of Sault Ste. Marie. Grandchildren Kimberley White (Paul Tonin) of Toronto, William White of Cottlesville of N.L., Christine Stitt (Rod Cameron) of Goulais Bay, Sheila Patrick (Tom), Cheryl Bailey all of Sault Ste. Marie and Derick Bailey (Angela) of Garden River and 14 great grandchildren. Helen is also survived by 3 of 9 siblings, Hilda Oullette, August and Albert Whalen. Predeceased siblings, Victor, George and Edmond Whalen, Emma Evens, Agnes Artuso and Doreen Seguin.
A private Memorial Service will be held.
Memorial contributions to the F.J. Dave Home in her memory would be greatly appreciated.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Driftwood 1 at the F.J. Davey Home for their professional and compassionate care. Also a heartfelt thank you to Annette Macumber and Hilda Lee who so lovingly attended at Helen’s bedside when family was unable to be there.
