An early morning fire was no April Fool’s joke for a family on Doncaster Avenue Tuesday morning.
Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services responded to a call in the 400 block of Doncaster Avenue, when the crews arrived the house was emitting smoke and flames.
In the early morning hours of April 1, 2014, Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services responded to a 911 call in the 400 block of Doncaster Avenue. Suppression crews brought the fire under control in approximately one hour.
One firefighter sustained minor injuries while fighting the fire. It is believed the homeowners were not home at the time of the fire.
The house was destroyed by the blaze. Eyewitnesses tell SaultOnline that the entire back of the house has collapsed.
This fire is currently under investigation by Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
