We’ve received multiple reports from unconfirmed news sources that the O.P.P. have closed Searchmont Highway at the Rainbow Creek Bridge due to flooding, stranding many on either side.
We just spoke with one local resident who lives on the Northern side of the bridge. She had just received a call from her young daughter who was extremely distraught over the school bus dropping her off on the Sault side of the bridge with neighbours unfamiliar to her.
SaultOnline was told that members from a Search & Rescue Team are on site with the O.P.P. to assess the severity of the situation and determine what can be done, if anything at this time.
