The Sault O.P.P. would like to advise the public that Mission Road in Goulais is closed due to a washout from Fire Number 289 Eastward. A vehicle was damaged in the when the road collapsed but thankfully the driver escaped any injuries.
There is currently no access to Highway 17 at this time for residents living beyond this area and MTO is on site with repairs underway. More information will be released as it becomes available.

(Goulais Township, ON) – Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police advise the public that Mission Road in Goulais River is closed from fire number 289 eastward due to a washout.
A vehicle was damaged when the roadway collapsed, however there were no injuries to the driver.
There is no access to Highway 17 at this time for residents living beyond this area.
The Ministry of Transportation is on site and repairs are underway.
The O.P.P. will distribute details and updates of the road advisory as information becomes available.
