Many women and men in today’s society are affected to some degree with challenges related to body image. White Pines Onstage, along with Christy’s Light Foundation, are hosting a concert to raise money and awareness to combat eating disorders. “LIGHT UP THE NIGHT” is taking place Thursday, May 29, at 7 p.m. in the Kiwanis Community Theatre at White Pines.
The event will include thought-provoking performances featuring talented White Pines Arts Students. Proceeds from the event will go towards raising awareness for eating disorders and developing programs that boost self-esteem – in particular, to Christy’s Light Foundation.
“Our goal is to get the word out that there is support for individuals and their loved ones,” said event co-organizer Jen Amadio, Executive Director of Christy’s Light Foundation. “We would also like to let it be known that there are programs readily available for young people. These programs are currently running to help improving self-esteem through the arts.”
Tickets for Light Up the Night can be purchased for $15 at the door.
Christy’s Light Foundation is a group of community volunteers who are working to provide education and support for people impacted – directly or indirectly – by eating disorders. More information is available at www.christyslight.com.
