It is with great love and pride that we regretfully announce the conclusion of the long and beautiful life of Lillian Mae Lucuik on her birthday, May 23, 2014.
A loving wife, the best mom ever, a brilliant grandmother, an extraordinary friend, sister and daughter. Always above and beyond in everything that she did.
Beloved wife of George for 52 years. Unparalleled as a mother to Brant, Marile (Darren), Mark (Jacqueline) and Joel (Stephanie) and as grandmother to Jessamy, Mackenzie, Mieke, Eden, Saskia and Anneka. Dear sister of Rose Law (John) and Vivian Birston (Ralph). Loving daughter of the late Walter and Winifred Dykeman. Cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews. She adored each and every one of us and none were safe from her antics.
She was a woman of sharp wit and endless mischief who brought a smile to the face of everyone who knew her. Couple that with her kindness, her compassion her strength and her open-door attitude to all who crossed her path and you have a truly exceptional person.
Lil had a long and successful nursing career, both in training and in spirit, which began in Toronto at the Children’s Cancer Clinic and took her through Chapleau, Calgary, Inuvik and Vancouver before settling in Sault Ste Marie. After almost 30 years at The Group Health Centre, she finished her rewarding career by developing a very successful pre-op teaching program that is still in effect today.
Lil’s final days were an incredible adventure with her husband and four children. She was an amazing woman. She will forever remain in our hearts..
