There’s a good chance that your feet will be tapping when watching the latest Musical Comedy Guild’s production of The Marvelous Wonderettes.
The smash off-Broadway hit takes you to the 1958 Springfield High School prom and the Class of 1968 Reunion where we meet the Wonderettes, four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts!
Producer Thomas Brandstetter tells SaultOnline.com that after the huge production of Les Miserables last fall, a smaller show and a different venue – a dinner theatre – was a welcome change.
The cast consists of four characters portrayed by Calyssa Rimkey, Brianna Niro, Elizabeth Allol and Kelsey Wade. Musical direction by Nicole Dugas and choreography by Jennifer Avery.
As we learn about their lives and loves, we are treated to the girls performing such classic ’50s and ’60s songs as “Lollipop,” “Dream Lover,” “Lipstick on Your Collar,” “It’s My Party,” “Respect”, “Son of a Preacher Man” and over 20 other classic hits!
The show debuts Thursday night with dinner at 6:30pm. Tickets are available at the KCTC Box Office in the Station Mall. A matinee performance with a lunch is also available as well as just show tickets.
