An then there was one. A political newbie who announced he was running for Mayor will be stepping out of the race. SaultOnline was told Monday by Anthony Pagnotta,26 that he will be removing his name from the ballot for Mayor.
Pagnotta announced his nomination just last week, making the vote for Mayor a two way race.
Pagnotta told media then that he is entering the election because he was tired of being “an armchair activist” and wants be be involved in the decision making at City Hall.
Pagnotta is an Algoma University grad from the computer sciences program and his Masters from the University of Western Ontario.
Pagnotta told Saultonline.com Monday night,”Some circumstances have arisen and for the well being of myself, my family and my acquaintances, I will be removing myself from the nomination for mayorship tomorrow”
The municipal election takes place Oct. 27.
