Celia Ross met yesterday with downtown business owners and community members to listen to their concerns and discuss the NDP’s plan for change which will deliver results for this region.
“The NDP will build this community by investing in transit, cutting taxes for small businesses and raising the minimum wage to $12 an hour,” said Ross. “The Liberals are promising the moon and the stars to escape their scandals but people know that only the NDP can be trusted to deliver.”
The Liberals dealt a huge blow to municipal transit systems when they cancelled the Ontario Bus Replacement Program in 2010. The Liberals also failed Sault Ste. Marie tenants by neglecting to improve building standards. The NDP’s campaign platform also commits to protection for tenants and investments in cycling infrastructure.
