The Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that we have crossed yet another milestone in the history of our organization. On June 25th, 2014 The Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce will embark upon its 125th year serving the business community of Sault Ste. Marie.
The Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce was originally known as the “Sault Ste. Marie Board of Trade” and although it has grown, in many respects it has not changed significantly since its formation. In 1889, forty business-men came together to support one another in their endeavors. Beyond this aspect, the group then focused and encouraged the growth in the young town of Sault Ste. Marie.
Membership demands, challenges and feedback have allowed us to push ahead and improve vigorously while serving our members and community. Our Chamber has, and will continue to be your voice of business in the community. Our plan is to continue to develop and advocate on behalf of our membership.
Over the past 125 years, our Chamber has had countless successes in achievement and advocacy for the community and its supporting partners, and we would like to take this occasion to thank those parties, along with our entire membership for their ongoing support. It is the enthusiasm, support and dedication that the community has displayed over the past 125 years that has brought the Chamber to where it is are today, and we thank you for the opportunity to continue to do so.
