Golf Tournament is a Hole In One For The Community


A perfect day to get 18 holes in! Several teams took advantage of great weather to participate in the 4th annual Mayor’s Charity Golf Tournament.

Sault Ste. Marie Mayor, Debbie Amaroso was instrumental in the organization of the tournament that takes part at the Sault Ste. Marie Golf Club. Amaroso is a avid golfer,”I average in the 90’s” she told Monday morning with her team mates, Lou Turco (Councillor Ward 4), Scott Sexsmith (Rogers Radio) and Sherrie Frechette (from MP Bryan Hayes office). The fun all started after the shot-gun start.

It’s a full day of activities from the 18 holes to a social afterwards a dinner Culinary experience prepared by Chef Paul, Quattro Chophouse and a silent and live auction.

The tournament raises money to add community funds administered by the Sault Ste. Marie and District United Way for people who are in dire financial situations with a focus on three key areas, Strong Community, All the Kids Can Be and from Poverty to Possibility.
