Bea passed away June 19, 2014 at the age of 96.
She was predeceased by her husband Hugh (1986) and her much loved grandson Jamie (2007).
One of the first employees, and longtime manager, of the Algoma Steelworkers Credit Union (ASCU- now Community First), Bea retired early-too early she later said-to spend her winters at her Florida home. Something she did for the past 38 years! Once an avid walker, she had slowed down in recent years, but continued her daily routine of crossword puzzles, reading, watching the news,
Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, and having a “wee” glass of wine with dinner.
Bea was very independent and proud to be able to live on her own, and on her own terms, until the end.
She is survived by her son Jim, daughter-in-law D. Ann, brother Herm and sister-in-law Shirley.
Cremation and internment have occurred in accordance with Bea’s wishes.
