Thousands attended the 14th Annual Relay For Life for the Canadian Cancer Society at John Rhodes Community Centre to help raise hundreds of thousands locally.
The 12 hour relay that sees teams walk the Jo Foreman track for 12 hours has generated well over $2 million dollars towards cancer research, Nationally the event raises over $46 million.
It can be overwhelming as local cancer survivors kick off the walk but even more so are the luminaries that line the track dedicated to those who have lost their battle. The relay wrapped up early Saturday morning, this year’s goal was $300,000.
