On the 1st of July 2014 just after 1 am a homeowner in the central area of town reported the theft of a 2007 GMC pickup truck. Just before 3 am officer on routine patrol observed the stolen vehicle with a number of occupants inside. The vehicle was stopped in the area of Cathcart Street and Huron Street without incident.
6 people were taken into custody in relation to the stolen vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle 22-year old Jade Shawanda of 150 Sweetgrass Steet, Garden River was charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime, one count of consume over legal limit, one count of theft over $5,000 and one count of breach of probation for failing to keep the peace and be of good behavior. She will appear in court on August 11th.
A 17-year old male was charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime and one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance after officers located a small amount of marijuana on the accused. He will appear in court on August 11th.
A second 17-year old male was charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime and three counts of breach of probation for failing to keep the peace, disobeying a curfew and associating with persons he was not to associate with. He will appear in court on August 5th.
A 15-year old male was charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance for having a small quantity of marijuana and one count of possession of property obtained with crime. He will appear in court on August 5th.
A third 17-year old male was charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime and one count of breach of probation for failing to keep the peace and be of good behavior. He will appear in court on August 5th
A second 15-year old male was charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime. He will appear in court on August 5th
