Pursuit and Arrest For Stolen Vehicle

On the 13th of July, 2014 at 5:15 am alert City Police officers observed a red Jeep Patriot being driven on Pim Street in the area of Borron Street. The vehicle had been reported stolen just 15 minutes earlier, and was believed to have been taken sometime over night.

Officers strategically followed the vehicle a short distance, and were successful in getting the vehicle to safely come to a stop. As officers were exiting the cruiser the suspect vehicle accelerated and fled the area. At 5:18 am officers initiated a pursuit, following the suspect vehicle to the area of Mcnabb Street and Willow Avenue where the vehicle stopped and the driver fled on foot. Canine officer initiated a track, and the suspect was located a short distance away hiding behind a shed.

The suspect 26 year old Cody Marshall of 864 Queen Street east, room 10 was arrested and charged with being in possession of stolen property (the red Jeep Patriot), flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and breach of probation. At the time of the offence the accused was on a probation order to keep the peace and be of good behavior.

Cody Marshall is scheduled to attend court on August 11, 2014.
