A Blown high voltage lightning arrestor was the cause of a power outage for 472 homes. Power went out at 2:06pm and restored at 2:32 pm report the PUC

A Thunderstorm is being blamed for an unplanned power outage in the central part of the city.

Sault Ste. Marie PUC report almost 500 homes have lost power as of 2:06 pm in the Wellington East, Bruce St, Cedar, Trelawne, Grovenor, Dufferin, Hearst Street areas.

PUC crews are currently investigating.
