Crime of the Week: Goulais River Break In

Crime Stoppers and the Sault Ste. Marie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police are seeking the public’s help to solve a break and enter that occurred in the 1700 block of Mission Road in Goulais River.

Sometime around the 28 July 2014 a seasonal home was entered by kicking a steel door off the frame.
Numerous items were stolen including 2 pairs of high powered binoculars, six unique style hunting knives (Ka-Bar and Puma brand), a tackle box filled with lures and several distinct collector coins. Some of these coins included a 1978 Silver dollar, a JFK and Eisenhower silver dollar and a 1967 Centennial coin set.

These items also held sentimental value as they belonged to the elderly owner’s son who passed away last year.
