Crime of the Week: Walmart Theft Caught On Camera

Crime Stoppers

Retailers lose up to $3 billion a year or $8 million a day due to theft and shoplifting. Retail crimes affect not only retail sales but consumer costs, and the safety of employees and customers.

Crime Stoppers and the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service need your help in solving a theft from the Station Mall Wal-Mart. On Wednesday, August 6, 2014 a male was observed attempting to walk out of the store with unpaid merchandise. The male returned into the store for a short period of time and then left out the mall entrance with the unpaid items.

The suspect was captured on video surveillance and is described as male, slim build, mid 40’s with grey balding hair. He was wearing blue jeans, blue shirt, blue hat, white shoes and a tattoo sleeve on his left forearm. For every crime committed, someone other than the criminal may have information to help solve the crime and make Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District a safer place.
