ALS Fire and Ice

The Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services along with Sault MPP David Orazietti took the Ice Bucket challenge for ALS Friday. Sault Fire Fighters were challenged by Sault Ste. Marie Police Services Thursday.

als-bucket-fire-services-02Not to be outdone by the police, the fire fighters got their hoses out and a whole bunch of ice while braving cool winds and a grey rainy sky.

Taking the challenge from the Sault Fire Fighters were Graeme Pateman, Jeremy VanHoek, Damon Ferris, Dave Orazietti, Rob Greve, Dave Boucher, Neil Brocklebank.

Doing the dunking Brian Campbell, Frank Mancuso, Josh Scott, Tom Carmichael, Mark Scornaienchi, and Jeff Bowen. Manning the hose: Steve Quesnelle.

Today Sault Ste. Marie MPP David Orazietti took part in the Ice Bucket Challenge to help raise awareness for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Orazietti was joined by Sault Ste. Marie Professional Firefighters Association President Rob Greve and members of the Sault Ste. Marie Firefighters.

als-bucket-fire-services-06“I’m pleased to have been nominated by a member of our community to participate in the Ice Bucket Challenge and do my part to help raise awareness and research funds for ALS,” said Orazietti. “I look forward to watching more Sault residents take the challenge in support of this great cause.”
MPP Orazietti conducted the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge at the EMS Centre at 65 Old Garden River Road.

Orazietti has nominated Sault residents Mike DaPrat (and United Steelworkers Local 2251 local executive), Donna Hilsinger (General Manager, Algoma’s Water Tower Inn and Suites) and Ron Gagnon (CEO Sault Area Hospital) and has spoken with each of them about taking the challenge.
