[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he corner of Pim and Bruce Streets just got a lot busier. The Sault’s new Esso On The Run and Tim Hortons officially opened Thursday to a large crowd at the newly designed gas station, car wash along with the convenience store and Tim Horton’s outlet. The new location employs 40.

“We are really excited about our new Esso On the Run store. It’s not every day that a unique site like this is constructed in Sault Ste. Marie so we thought we should celebrate the opening with the general public and our customers who have embraced the new store,” said Darren McDougall, Esso On The Run, Bruce Street owner and President of McDougall Energy.

Gord Nystedt co-owner tells SaultOnline.com that pairing the coffee element and the gas bar is paramount with today’s driver and travelers.  A new feature that includes full service for customers.

“We hope customers appreciate the convenience of our new store location and offers. Commuters can fuel their vehicle, fill their convenience needs, grab a Tim’s coffee, and wash their vehicle with our touchless car wash all at one location.”

McDogall Fuels owns and operates the Esso On The Run on Trunk Road as well as a gas bar on Wellington West.

Give-a-ways, specials and a BBQ  as well as  volunteers of ARCH, the Algoma Residential Community Hospice were on site to receive proceeds from a fundraising event.

The former Esso station, owned by Imperial Oil at the same location closed and sat empty for 7 years. The new independent station joins other new businesses in the area, Great Lakes Honda as well as a new office building currently under construction on Pim Street.
