A new field house to be constructed at Superior Height Colliegiate & Vocational School will be named in honour of fallen hero, Sgt. John Faught.

Faught, originally from Sault Ste. Marie was killed in Afganistan in 2010.

An on-going fundraising and sponsorship campaign will help with the estimated $450,000 to $500,000 cost to construct the new building next to the turf field that opened last fall.

The building itself will have washrooms, change rooms, space for equipment as well as a press box and perch for filming sporting events.

The ADSB say they don’t have a time frame, Asima Vezina. superintendent for education for ADSB told SaultOnline.com “We don’t have a specific time-line in place, we’re going to really approach the community over the next six months and see what kind of interest and support we can drum up”

The board hopes to be in the designing phase with an architect by late winter.
