The City of Sault Ste. Marie Accessibility Advisory Committee (AAC) has developed an award that will be presented annually to a building that offers exceptional accessibility to people with various disabilities.
The AAC is pleased to present the first annual ‘Catherine Meincke Memorial Award for Exceptional Accessibility’ to PUC Services Inc. After touring the new PUC Administration and Operations Centre, the Committee determined that this facility offers exceptional accessibility for visitors and staff.
Catherine Meincke, prior to her passing in 2011, was a member of the Accessibility Advisory Committee. She worked and volunteered within our community, with the objective of making a more accessible city for people with disabilities. This award will be presented in Catherine’s name as recognition for her years of dedication to people with disabilities.
An unveiling of the Catherine Meincke Memorial Award for Exceptional Accessibility will take place as follows:
Friday, September 12 – 10:30 a.m.
