Police Break-in

Shortly before 4 am this morning City Police received a 911 call from a residence on Cathcart Street. The caller reported that a male not known to them had entered the home after another resident of the address gave the male a key.

It is alleged that the male damaged the apartment by ripping down a curtain, throwing trash around, cracking a sink, damaging dishes and putting a hole in the wall. Officers attended the area and as the suspect was leaving the residence officers advised him to stop.

The male allegedly raised his fist at an officer and appeared he was going to strike the officer. The male was taken into custody after a brief struggle. 47-year old Nelson Dannrath of 612 Shafer Avenue has been charged with one count of mischief under $5,000 and one count of resist arrest. He appeared in bail court this morning.
