(March 6th, 1940 – September 1, 2014) After struggling with many health challenges in recent years, Carl passed away peacefully in his 75th year with his “Teddy Bear” Virginia (nee Rivers) by his side.
Loving father to Jason (Anne), Stefanie (Maurice), Duncan (Wendy), and grandfather to Tyler, Cody, Jacob, and Casey. Loving son of the late Duncan and Gladys Rydall. Loving brother to the late Bryan Rydall (Isabel), Barry Rydall (Greta), the late Mona Headrick (Ken), the late Norma (late Keith Barkley), special brother to the late John Rydall (Kathy), Gail Ableson (Jim), Darwin Rydall (Regina) and the late infant sister Ramona. Son in law to the late Frank and Annie Rivers; brother in law to Randy Rivers (late Marie) Carl also had many nieces and nephews that he enjoyed spending time with.
The “Toughest man in Algoma” will be dearly missed by the love of his life Virginia, clearly the “Toughest woman in Algoma”. Losing his mobility, Carl missed touring in the country to visit his many friends and family. The Saturday road tour was a highlight adventure of Carl’s; providing many hours of laughter and company to all.
At the request of family there will be a private interment at Laird cemetery. A celebration of Carl’s life will be announced at a later date.
