The search for Gary Morettin, 58 of Sault Ste. Marie continues with the OPP Underwater Search & Recovery Unit. The above photo was taken Thursday afternoon at the MTO Yard at the Junction of Hwy 17 and Frater Road which has been serving as a staging area since the search began. The OPP helicopter has been ferrying men and equipment back and forth from the search area. Wawa-news contacted the SE OPP Wawa Detachment for information this morning about the search, and Staff Sgt. Marc Loranger had no further information to add.
Other news sources are reporting that a 12′ aluminum boat with the motor (in forward gear) was found near shore, and that one of the camps/cottages on Black Beaver Lake belongs to Mr. Morettin. His workplace was the one to report him missing.
