Barry is loved and will be very much missed by his children Michael Bryant (Samantha) of Sault Ste. Marie, Kristoffer Bryant (Jen) of Georgetown and Jennifer McConnell (Mike) of Milton. He will also be fondly remembered by Tara Regis of Milton. Grandpa/Granddad to Jason, Bree, Ian, Sean, Amy, Russell and Dade. He is also survived by his sisters Gloria and Debby, and several aunts and uncles abroad. Barry will also be missed by his closest friend Bob Carson and his extended family at the Northland Bible Chapel in Goulais River.
Formerly of Georgetown, Barry was well known about town for his ZZ Top appearance, and his love of fast cars and bikes. However in the early ‘80s, his greatest achievement was setting a precedent when he won his much publicized battle against the Provincial Government over discrimination for male mothers, thus giving single fathers the same rights as single mothers that needed to be home to raise their children for whatever reason.
Friends are invited to a come and go visitation with the family at Northwood Funeral HomeCremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Friday evening October 3, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial service will be held at Northland Bible Chapel, 34 Ontario 552 West, Goulais River on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.
Memorial donations made to the SAH – Critical Care Fund would be appreciated by the family.
Barry’s family would like to thank Dr’s Ghosh and Mathew and the wonderful caring nurses in ICU for their care and guidance over the last two weeks.
