
The High School Hockey East West game started off with CASS representing the East and St. Basil’s for the West. Both teams had equal chances at scoring and after the first period of play the score was tied at two a piece. In the second and final period of the match up between these two teams seen St. Basil’s expand the lead for the West by scoring three more goals while CASS only counted one setting the stage for the next two teams with the West leading 5 to 3 over the East.
The second teams to take to the ice were Korah for the West and Superior Heights for the East. The scores from the first game were carried on and after the first period had the West taking command of the puck and this dominance had the West leading by a score of 8 to 4 over the East. The second period Superior Heights blanked the Colts and scored one goal to tighten the gap with the West still leading by a score of 8 to 5 over the East.
The third and final match up saw White Pines take to the ice to represent the East and St. Mary’s for the West. St. Mary’s dominated the two periods of hockey and with only 3:13 left in the game saw a couple of big fights having players from both teams being served game misconducts. After the final horn the West beat the East by a score of 13 to 5.
