Early autumn storm bringing rain heavy at times tonight and Friday.
- Agawa – Lake Superior Park
- Sault Ste. Marie – St. Joseph Island
- Searchmont – Montreal River Harbour – Batchawana Bay
A low pressure area originating from Texas is moving into Missouri this afternoon and will strengthen as it approaches the Great Lakes tonight. Rain heavy at times associated with this system will begin overnight for areas near lakes superior and Huron and other parts of Northeastern Ontario on Friday. Current indications suggest this developing system will deliver 30 to 50 mm of rain by late Friday evening. However, enhanced amounts exceeding 50 mm are likely in some areas north of Lake Huron and east of Lake Superior. A rainfall warning will likely be issued shortly.
Environment Canada meteorologists will continue to monitor this developing situation closely.
