UPDATED :Highway 129 Washed Out!

Saturday morning 10:30am update, OPP advise that Highway 129 is now open.

The East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) would like to advise motorists that Highway 129 is closed due to washouts.

Highway 129 is closed from highway 17 north to Chapleau until the severity of the washouts can be determined.

At this time there is no detour available and it is unknown how long Highway 129 will be closed.

  1. I need to know when the road will be open I was about to leave to head up there 10 hour drive for me. Good a friend called from the Soo to let me know now I’m in a stand still till I know it’s safe and open
