OPP Cruiser Hit at Bad Accident Site North of Sault

A multi-vehicle crash on Highway 17 north of Sault Ste. Marie at Alona Bay forced OPP to close the highway for a period Sunday evening. No details are yet known about the collision, however Saultonline.com has learned that one OPP cruiser was hit this morning while at the collision scene. Reports have one OPP officer “not feeling well”.

Investigation into the multi-collision crash continues at this hour, one lane of the highway has been open to allow for alternating traffic. Expect delays.

As of yet the OPP have not released details on the crash, or any updates on the condition of the Highway.
