Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services would like to inform the public that “Kidde” alarms has recalled the following models of residential smoke alarms and combination smoke/carbon monoxide alarms.
Models:
KN-COSM-IBACA
i1201S-CO-CA
i12010S-CA
These alarms are white, round and approximately 12.7 to15.2 cm (5 to 6 inches) in diameter, with an engraved Kidde logo on the front. They are AC/DC powered and capable of hardwired interconnect. Labels indicating the model number and date of manufacturer are located on the back of the device. The number of affected units in Canada is approximately 112,000. These units were sold between January and May of this year.
There have been no reports of consumer incidents of injuries.

Consumers should not take effected units out of service until they receive a replacement.
