Significant Rain Expected

Significant rainfall today into tonight.

A moisture laden disturbance has spread a large area of rain across the regions as expected. Rain will continue today and for most of tonight then taper to a few showers on Wednesday as the disturbance moves slowly to the east of the regions. An isolated thunderstorm is not completely out of the question.

Special weather statement in effect for:

Agawa – Lake Superior Park
Sault Ste. Marie – St. Joseph Island
Searchmont – Montreal River Harbour – Batchawana Bay

Current indications suggest a general 20 to 40 mm rainfall across most of Northeastern Ontario. Locally higher amounts of 40 to 60 mm are possible.

Rainfall warnings are not anticipated at this time. However, Environment Canada will continue to monitor the situation closely and issue any warnings if required.
