The Sault International Bridge would like to advise everyone that with the Canadian Thanksgiving holiday coming Monday, the has seen heavier northbound traffic, resulting in backups. As of just 10 minutes ago, there is a 55 minute delay heading Northbound to Sault Canada.
Bridge officials are cautioning motorists that backups have extended across the entire bridge from the Canadian plaza to the U.S. toll plaza and beyond.
In addition to the higher traffic volumes, there is only one northbound toll booth operational for the next two weeks, due to the ongoing toll plaza reconstruction project.
Motorists are asked to be patient and remember that cash transactions take time. Customer waits at the toll booth can be significantly reduced if customers paying cash have the $3.50 U.S. or $3.80 Canadian fare ready before they reach the booth.
