At approximately 12:40 this afternoon officers attended the intersection of Wellington St. East and Gore St. for a motor vehicle collision.
It is alleged that the driver of the second vehicle rear-ended another vehicle at the intersection. The driver of the following vehicle, identified as 52 year old Michael Christiansen of 35 Elmwood Avenue, was exhibiting the symptoms of alcohol consumption and given a roadside screening device test.
He failed that test and the follow-up Intoxilizer test and was subsequently arrested and charged with having over the legal amount of alcohol in his blood. He will appear in court on 10 Nov 2014.
