Voting Day is Monday, October 27, 2014. The City of Sault Ste. Marie will hold the first of three Advance Vote days on Saturday, October 11 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. at the Civic Centre. You should receive your ‘You Vote at Card’ in the mail this week.
Additional Advance Vote days will be held at the Civic Centre on Wednesday, October 15 between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. and on Saturday, October 18 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Voters requiring extra assistance are encouraged to take advantage of the enhanced accessibility provided on Advance Vote Days. The City has partnered with the Canadian Hearing Society to provide sign language interpreter services between 10 a.m. and noon and 5 and 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15. Tools to assist individuals with visual impairments will be available at every voting location.
Sault Ste. Marie Transit will provide free bus service to riders who present their You Vote at Card on Advance Vote days and on Voting Day.
Electors must provide identification when they vote. If an elector is on the Voters List and presents identification showing their name, qualifying address as shown on the Voters List and signature, the elector will be provided with a ballot and allowed to vote. The You Vote at Card is not acceptable identification.
Students may vote both in their home community and in the Ontario municipality at which they attend post-secondary school.
