Water Advisory (CASS & Johnson-Tarbutt Public School)

0

The Algoma District School Board (ADSB) advises parents in the Township of Johnson that Senior Administration is currently working closely with the Principals of Johnson-Tarbutt Central Public School and Central Algoma Secondary School (CASS) in regard to the water issues being experienced currently by the Township of Johnson.

Staff and administration at both CASS and Johnson-Tarbutt are monitoring the situation closely at the schools. Extra staff has been assigned to CASS to assist with the larger school population.

Bottled water and extra hand sanitizer have been delivered to both schools. Parents should know that Principals at both Johnson-Tarbutt and CASS are communicating clearly with staff and students around the following:

1. Drinking water stations which have been set up to service students and staff;
2. Procedures for toilet flushing;
3. Procedures for hand washing;
4. Vigilance of staff and students to report concerns quickly so they can be addressed.

The Township of Johnson has indicated that the issue has been identified and the repairs and the replenishing of the water reservoir should be completed within the next 12 hours. The Township has also advised that once the water supply has been restored that the Hamlet will be under a Boil Water Advisory until further notice.

Further information will be provided as needed.
Thank-you for your patience and understanding!
