Years from now the kids taking part in the Community Christmas Skating Party will probably remember quality family time with Mom and Dad skating at the Essar Centre with Santa and Mrs Claus and winning some neat prizes.
It’s those childhood memories that stay with you forever and that exactly what the Community Christmas Skating Party is all about.
Hosted by the United Steelworkers Locals of Sault Ste. Marie, the annual skate “has been going on for years and years” Joe Krmpotich , Ward 6 councillor and 1st VP of the Sault Ste. Marie and District Labour Council
The event open to the community with donations of non-perishable food items, donated to the Soup Kitchen.
“We have fun things for the kids, like Balloon Art and face painting, Santa and Mrs. Claus is here and the kids can get their picture with them plus we have great prizes” Krmpotich said, dressed as one of Santa’s Elves.
The Skating party started at Noon and lasted to 4pm. A great Christmas Family event courtesy the Steelworkers.
