Former Lowe's Location will be home of new store. told you about a pending new tenant in the former Zellers location on Northern Ave a few months ago, today we can confirm that Lowe’s is moving in and ready for Summer 2015.
Lowe’s issued this release today.

The Sault Ste. Marie Lowe’s will have approximately 75,000 square feet of retail sales space, with an adjacent permanent garden centre of approximately 4,400 square feet plus a 6,300 square foot seasonal pop-up garden centre.

The store represents an approximate local investment in excess of $7 million and will create 120 to 140 jobs with an additional 40 to 50 seasonal positions.

The store will be located at 248 Northern Avenue in the city’s north end and is scheduled to open in summer 2015.

Lowe’s opened two new stores in Ontario, in February 2014, in Cambridge and Burlington that featured the company’s new concept store experience.

Last week the company launched the Lowe’s Holoroom in its North Etobicoke and Burlington stores which is a first of its kind, home improvement simulator that applies 3-D and augmented reality technologies to provide home owners with an intuitive, immersive experience of their room renovation projects.

  1. Screw a store would of been cool if they put in the old rolla Rama there need more things for the youth to do …maybe they would stop getting into shit lol but for real the kids need something

  2. The only good thing that’s gonna come out of this is that they are creating some jobs!!!! The crappy thing is that it’s yet another home improvement store!!!!
How bout the city reps take a look at why saultites are going across the river to shop….or even down to southern Ontario to shop?…there is absolutely no variety there….unless you just want walmart!!!
How bout using that space and making a few stores???
There is such stores as GAP, Old Navy, and the list goes on!
Give the people something to be excited about!

  3. What they should put there is a bass pro shop as we are a northern comunity awesome hunting and fishing here. As other pro shops have no good deals or product
