Introducing one of our city’s young individuals to celebrate and honor not only during National Down Syndrome Awareness Week (November 1st to 7th) but all year long.
Matthew Giradi is a ten year old grade 4 student at a local HSCDSB school. He’s a hero to us because he shows us all that you can do anything that you want to if you are willing to work hard at and go after it. He has many different skills, talents and abilities. He loves to play sports: basketball (Small Ball at St. Basils), Soo Pee Wee hockey and he enjoys playing soccer as well.
Matthew is a student at Soo Dance. He loves to listen to music and loves to dance. Last week, at our regular meeting he entertained us with an impromptu rendition of a Michael Jackson dance routine. He knows how to light up a room with his smile and charming personality.
He likes to play Mindcraft and he enjoys spending time with his family and friends.
He has his own special heroes that he looks up to his Nonno Gino and his (late) Nonno Louie.
He looks up to his Nonnos and thinks the world of them-as they do of him.
Matthew is featured in the Sault Ste Marie Down Syndrome Society calendar for 2015 themed “Full of Life”. He has a lot of fun when posing for photo shoots. He is definitely not camera shy. He is “Mr. Social” He has a great sense of humor and likes to have fun. He works hard and plays hard.
He makes everyone around him feel good and he is FULL OF LIFE!
