Health Care Workers in Ontario Want to be Reimbursed

With contracts for 23,000 health care workers expiring this year, they want to be reimbursed for what they gave up in 2011 when the Ontario Government froze all their wages.

Approximately 1,500 work in Northern Ontario have been in negotiations this year and all of their contracts have expired.

They want to send a message to all levels of governments that they won’t accept the austerity that they have had to live with since 2011. They say that all Canadians have to band together and back these workers so as to protect our health care system and also make it a top agenda item in next year’s election.
