Man Pulls Out Gun at Police


Shortly after 1 am this morning officers attended at an address in the central area of town after a male threatened another male known to him. It is alleged that the accused threatened to burn down the residence of the victim, kicked a door to the residence and poured gasoline inside the residence and on the front lawn.

Officers located the suspect a short distance away. When officers went to arrest the accused he pulled a black handgun out of the back of his waistband. Officers were able to get the weapon away immediately and the male was handcuffed. Officers determined the weapon was a bb gun. When searching the accused officers located a lighter.

27-year old Michael Morningstar of 827 Goulais Avenue was arrested and has been charged with one count of uttering threats to damage property, one count of mischief, one count of arson-disregard for human life and one count of possession of incendiary material. He will appear in bail court this morning.
