After dropping back to back shootout losses vs OJHL Coffey and OJHL Oates, Team NOJHL was looking to come out on the winning side in quarterfinals action vs the CCHL Robinson on November 15th at 8:00pm.
The teams were tied 2-2 after twenty minutes with a pair of Soo Thunderbird players scoring for Team NOJHL including Jaren Bellini’s first and Anthony Miller’s second. The teams went scoreless after the second and for the third straight game Team NOJHL was headed into a shootout. Third time was the charm as Team NOJHL came out on top to defeat the CCHL Robinson 3-2 in three shootout rounds. Mario Culina made twenty four stops for the victory to improve Team NOJHL’s record to 1-0-2. The NOJHLers will now play today at noon vs OJHL Oates in semifinals action.
