
Rocky DiPietro field was the place to be on Saturday, November 1st to witness the Senior Football City Championship game between 1st Place Superior Heights Steelhawks and 2nd place Korah Colts.
The first half of the game was a low scoring affair as both teams were trying to get a handle on their opponents game plan.
At 1:14 in the first quarter, the Steelhawks got onto the board with a field goal and convert to lead by a score of 7 – 0 and would be the only scoring for the quarter.
In the second quarter at the 10:01 minute mark the Colts got onto the scoreboard with a field goal and convert to tie the game at 7 a piece. Before the end of the 2nd quarter Superior Heights would score a safety to lead Korah by a score of 8 – 1 at half-time.

Korah would again tie up the game at 8 with a safety at 7:37 of the third quarter.
The blue machine of Superior Heights seemed to put it into high gear as the offense would score a touchdown and convert to lead Korah 15 – 8 at 4:00 of the third quarter.
With 5:33 to go in the fourth quarter the Steelhawks showed why the team finished first for the season by scoring another 7 points to lead the Colts 22 – 8.
The Steelhawks would add another touchdown and convert before the end of the game to a final score of 29 – 8.
The next showdown for the Superior Heights Steelhawks will be Nov 8 for the 2014 Northern Ontario Secondary School Athletics, NOSSA, semi-final at Superior Heights.
