Team NOJHL Loses In Semifinals Action

Less than twenty four hours after defeating CCHL Robinson in quarterfinals action, Team NOJHL headed into today’s semifinals vs OJHL Oates but fell short to them by a 5-2 score ending Northerners record at 1-1-2 at this year’s Central Canada Cup Challenge.

Dustin Cordeiro and Dylan Callaghan scored the goals for Team NOJHL while Mario Culina made twenty five stops in the loss.

Throughout the tournament, T-Birds captain Anthony Miller finished off with two goals and one assist as he sat tied for first in team scoring with Cochrane Crunch forward Dustin Cordeiro and Sudbury Nickel Baron’s defenceman Khadyn Butterfly. Nick Sicoly and Jaren Bellini each finished off the weekend with a goal and an assist while T-Birds net minder Mario Culina recorded Team NOJHL’s only victory vs CCHL Robinson.

Coach Jordan Smith, general manager Kevin Cain, assistant coach Ryan Maunu, captain Anthony Miller, David Radke, Mario Culina, Brian Kment, Nick Sicoly and Jaren Bellini who all represented the NOJHL from the Thunderbirds will now return to league action on Wednesday, November 19th at 7:30 when they travel to Copper Cliff to take in the Sudbury Nickel Barons from McClelland Arena.
