The Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce’s STRIVE Young Professionals Group is proud to announce a professional development opportunity with Young Professional of the Year Award recipient, Madison Zuppa.
After just a few years in the labour market, millennials have earned a reputation for being lazy, unprofessional, and entitled. Despite these stereotypes, Gen Y is the most educated and most diverse generation in history, and also the first to have more women than men obtain postsecondary education credentials.
“Why oh Why am I a Gen Y?” will explore what it means to be a millennial, and some of the lessons Madison has learned about being a successful young professional in the workplace. A networking opportunity will also be offered, which will encourage dialogue amongst participants regarding their workplace dynamics and ways to improve employee engagement.
Join STRIVE on Wednesday, December 3rd at the Art Gallery of Algoma, located at 10 East Street, from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Cost to attend is $5.00 for STRIVE Members and $10.00 for non-members, and includes access to the “Extraordinary Folk” exhibit on display.
This event is sponsored by The Fish Chicks! Their philosophy is a set of work/life practices created by ChartHouse Learning, designed to improve workplace culture and team performance. You can learn more about them at fishchicks.ca
