It took 35 years but Rob Rock finally did it. Sure he was nervous, a little apprehensive after all, 35 years is a long time.
There was no changing his mind either, he was determined to go through with it and raised $800 for his efforts.
So at 12:30pm on Tuesday December 22, Rob Rock, an employee at Sault Area Hospital with the support of family and friends sat down and said good bye to an old friend,
Rock said he’s doing this for his sister in-law Marilyn who has suffered with the disease Lupus. Lupus is an autoimmune disease where the body’s immune system becomes hyperactive and attacks normal, healthy tissue. This results in symptoms such as inflammation, swelling, and damage to joints, skin, kidneys, blood, the heart, and lungs.
Marilyn has had Lupus most of her life – and his brother Gary has been by her side for over 30 years.
“they are the two strongest people I know and truly have lived up to their wedding vows “in sickness and in health” as Marilyn was diagnosed with Lupus shortly after they were married. Last Christmas, we were extremely close to losing Marilyn so for their Christmas present this year”
